Culloden Battlefield & Clava Cairns
Visit the site which saw the conclusion of the Jacobite uprising, where the last battle to be fought on British soil occured.

Historical
The Battle of Culloden represented a turning point in Scottish history. It marked the end of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s dreams of reclaiming the throne for the Stuart dynasty and changed the Highland way of life forever. It is now one of the most important battlefield sites in the UK and is efficiently run by the National Trust. There is plenty to do and see with burial sites, weapons, re-enactments and plenty of other paraphernalia and an immersive experience to enjoy.
Clava Cairns, a Bronze age burial site, happens to be close by and well worth a stop off at. Step back in time and combine both of these historical sites into one day out.
Whisky Distillery Tour
Choose to visit any of the hundreds of whisky distilleries or combine a few of your favourites into an unforgettable tour.

Today's rain is tomorrow's Whisky!
Whether you're a whisky aficionado or novice non-drinker, learning about the history of the golden nectar and how it is made gives a unique insight into Scottish heritage. Not to mention most of the best distilleries are set in beautiful surroundings with plenty to do and see along the way.
If you have a distillery in mind then let us know and we can create a bespoke itinerary around your requirements. If not then we recommend Glenlivet distillery which is around an hours drive from Inverness or Macallan distillery (pictured), which is around an hour an half drive from Inverness.
Loch Ness & Urquhart Castle
An action packed day with castles, monsters and monumental feats of engineering.

A 'must see' when visiting the Highlands
After a short drive down Loch Ness and hopefully a glimpse of Nessie, this route stops off at Urquhart Castle (pictured) to take in the sights. We then head on to Fort Augustus to admire the world famous Caledonian Canal descending through five locks into Loch Ness. Sailing yachts, barges and commercial vessels jostle for position on their journey across Scotland. After lunch, cruise Loch Ness on a modern covered catamaran for an immersive one hour trip which gives you a whole new perspective of the Loch and it's magic. After a final wander around the shops in the village jump aboard for the return route. Along the way we climb into the hills as we take the wild and winding southern road home. Our final stop is Dores beach on the northern end of Loch Ness, where wild swimmers are often seen and where guests can dip a toe in or swim if they're feeling brave.
Dunrobin Castle
Looking more like a French châteaux than the seat of Clan Sutherland, this one-of-a-kind castle has something for all interests.

189 Rooms, Museum plus Falconry display
Visiting Dunrobin castle is truly a once in a lifetime experience. As one of the largest castles in the Highlands there is a huge amount to explore within its walls. Each room is steeped in history and provides a comprehensive insight into the history of the castle and Clan Sutherland, with clothing, artefacts, artwork and photographs on display throughout.
Outside, the gardens are beautifully maintained and manicured with plenty of breath taking views. There is a museum at the bottom of the gardens and regular falconry displays delivered by estate staff. Enjoy a cream tea or coffee and cake in the castle café before it's time to head for home.
